Applicant: Adaobi Eze | Duration: 2 years (2026-2028)
Background: B.Sc. Economics, University of Ibadan (First Class, CGPA 4.78/5.00). Undergraduate thesis: ‘Trade Relations Between Nigeria and China: A 25-Year Empirical Analysis.’ HSK 4 (160/300), continuing toward HSK 5. Semester 2: International Trade Theory II; Trade Policy and WTO; Mandarin (HSK 6 prep). Electives: China-Africa Trade Relations.
Summer 2027: Internship at MOFCOM Africa desk OR Chinese trade research institute. 3-week travel through Yiwu, Guangzhou, Shenzhen.
Semester 3: Thesis research. Topic: ‘Optimizing Nigerian Negotiating Positions on Belt and Road Loan Terms.’
Semester 4: Complete thesis. Defense June 2028.
Post-graduation: Senior Policy Analyst at Federal Ministry of Trade (offer letter conditional on degree). Long-term: Senior advisor to Office of Special Adviser to President on Trade.
