Read the following poem carefully and answer the questions that follow. Harmattan Morning The dust has come to sit upon the town, A grey old man who will not pay his rent; He wraps the mango trees in faded gown And leaves the sky the colour of cement. The children cough their way along the road, Their lips like riverbeds in March, all cracked; The farmer squints at fields he never sowed And counts the rains the season has not backed. Yet in the compound where the pot is warm My grandmother still laughs and shells her beans, And says that dust, like sorrow, is a storm That teaches patience, then departs, and cleans.
