JUPEBPhysicsCircular and Simple Harmonic Motion

A car rounds a flat horizontal bend of radius $20$ m. If the coefficient of friction between the tyres and the road is $0.5$, find the maximum speed at which the car can take the bend without skidding. (Take $g = 10$ m s$^{-2}$.)

A$10$ m s$^{-1}$CORRECT
B$5$ m s$^{-1}$
C$100$ m s$^{-1}$
D$20$ m s$^{-1}$

Why the answer is A, and why the others tempt you.
Friction supplies the centripetal force: $\mu mg = \dfrac{mv^2}{r}$, so $v = \sqrt{\mu g r} = \sqrt{0.5 \times 10 \times 20} = \sqrt{100} = 10$ m s$^{-1}$. Forgetting the square root gives 100.
