JUPEBUse of EnglishComprehension and Summary

Read the passage below and answer the question that follows. 'For the small business owner in Nigeria, an unreliable power supply is not an inconvenience but a threat to survival. A tailor in Aba who loses electricity for six hours cannot meet the deadline for a customer's wedding outfit and may lose that customer for good. A frozen-food seller watches her stock thaw and spoil, and with it a week's profit. The barber, the welder, the printer and the cyber café operator all sit idle while their rent continues to run. Those who buy generators find that fuel and maintenance swallow a large share of their earnings, and the fumes and noise drive away customers. Prices of goods rise because the cost of generating power is passed to the buyer. Over time, many small businesses simply close, and their owners join the ranks of the unemployed. Investors, seeing these difficulties, take their money to countries where the lights stay on.' In six sentences, one for each, summarise the effects of unreliable power supply on small businesses as described in the passage. (20 marks)
