Abuja Green Farms Limited (AGFL) is an agribusiness company that processes and sells organic vegetables and grains to retail supermarkets, hotels, and individual households in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The company was established in 2018 and has grown steadily; however, the Managing Director, Mr. Tunde Fashola (not the former Lagos governor), is concerned that AGFL is not maximising its market potential. He believes the company needs to adopt a more structured approach to marketing planning. At a recent board meeting, the following issues were raised: (i) The company does not have a formal marketing plan. (ii) There is no clear understanding of AGFL's position in the product life cycle. (iii) The sales team is unsure whether to focus on existing products and markets or to explore new ones. Required: (a) Explain the FIVE key stages of a marketing planning process that AGFL should adopt, clearly stating the purpose of each stage. (10 marks) (b) Describe the FOUR stages of the Product Life Cycle (PLC) and advise AGFL on the marketing strategies appropriate for the stage you believe AGFL's organic vegetable product line is most likely in, giving reasons for your assessment. (10 marks) (c) Using the Ansoff Matrix, identify and explain the FOUR growth strategies available to AGFL, and recommend the most appropriate strategy for the company at this stage of its development.
