Which of the following blood vessels carries oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart?

The pulmonary vein carries oxygenated blood from the lungs back to the left atrium of the heart. The pulmonary artery, by contrast, carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs. This is a notable exception to the general rule that veins carry deoxygenated blood.
